Alhambra - The Wonderful "Red Fortress"

The beautiful Alhambra Palace is located in Granada, Spain, on the hill of La Sabica on the southeast side of the City. It was built in the 14th century and is the best preserved Arab Palace.

Its full name is "Qal'at-al-Hambra" which means "The Red Fortress" because of the shade of the Towers and Walls that surround the Whole Hill.

Today the Alhambra is the most visited Tourist Attraction in Spain and not unjustly since the whole image of the palaces seems to have come out of a fairy tale.

Taichung - A Village Full of Color

It is hard to believe that one person can change the fate of an entire village. 86-year-old war veteran Huang Yung-fu did just that.

Huang lives in a village in Taiwan that has been suffering from the same problems as most villages in recent years: abandonment and house demolition.

However today none of these problems are not visible in the settlement thanks to Huang's colorful paintings.

The walls in almost every building in the village and the streets are covered with simple paintings by Huang depicting plants, animals, birds and TV personalities.

Considering the fact that he started painting two years ago, his achievement is quite large and commendable. The settlement is now a tourist attraction in Taiwan and appears in local tourist guides as a "place worth visiting".

The Ancient Greek City – Ephesus

Ephesus was an Ancient Greek City on the West Coast of Anatolia, near present-day Selcuk, Izmir Province, Turkey.
It was one of the Twelve Cities of the Ionian League during the Classical Greek Era. In the Roman period, it was for many years the Second Largest City of the Roman Empire, ranking behind Rome, the Empire’s Capital.

Ephesus had a population of more than 250,000 in the 1st century BC, which also made it the second largest city in the world.

The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BCE), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The Temple was destroyed in 401 CE by a mob led by St. John Chrysostom.

Emperor Constantine I rebuilt much of the city and erected new public baths.

The town was again partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614.

The city’s importance as a commercial center declined,

as the harbor was slowly silted up by the Cayster River.
